Steph & Alex chose her dad’s beautiful Church Paddock trout fishery in Winchester, Hampshire for their wedding. The weather was sunny and the bride looked stunning. An epic marquee, a separate mini-marquee to watch the Grand National live, beautiful surroundings, incredible food, fireworks and the inclusion of their vintage VW Camper van made it a perfect day.
ABOUT CHURCH PADDOCK FISHERY WEDDING VENUE
Situated on the outskirts of the historic city of Winchester, Church Paddock Fishery has a 1.5 acre spring fed lake set in 5 acres of landscaped ground. The lake holds mostly rainbow trout with some brown & blues. It will be hard for anglers to believe that they are only just over a mile from the centre of Winchester. The village of Headbourne Worthy is easy to locate, being about a mile from Junction 9 of the M3, & close to the A303 & A34. We have ample car parking & a well equipped fishing hut serving snacks, tea & coffee. As we only have limited rods available, booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Church Paddock derives its name from nearby St Swithun’s Church, which is believed to be the oldest Saxon church in Hampshire. It was dedicated to St Swithun the Bishop of Winchester who died in 862.
